Electricity and Water Usage Abatement Programs

SWSi’s ICT & Design Faculty successfully cut carbon emissions using technology based tools and products. Recycling & waste minimisation initiatives

The Institute is committed to encourage recycling, the purchase of recycled products and minimisation of waste. Enviro-bank waste recycling units, along with rotary compost bins have been installed at various colleges Institute wide in addition to 'wheelie' bins for recycling bottles, cans, general waste and paper/cardboard items.  Installation of a drinking water fountain at Wetherill Park College is a great initiative to refill reusable drink bottles, reducing landfill content.

The Painting and Decorating section at Granville College has demonstrated their effective water management through the treatment of paint sludge, water recovery and the recycling project. This initiative was nominated as a finalist in the Innovation category for The Sydney Water Customer Business Awards 2010.
