Outreach

Special courses for people and community groups who face barriers to training or employment can be organised through the Institute's Outreach Coordinators. Courses can be held in a community location or at a TAFE college. Call the Outreach Coordinator at your local college.

Students with children

Childcare is available at Bankstown, Campbelltown, Granville and Wetherill Park Colleges. Childcare may also be provided with some Outreach and Work Opportunities for Women's courses. Please check when enquiring about courses.

Students who need help with reading, writing and maths

We provide day and evening classes to help adults in reading, writing and/or maths at most colleges. Tutorial support is also available for students enrolled in other TAFE courses. Contact the Adult Basic Education unit at your local college.

Young unemployed people

We provide targeted training for unemployed people and these courses are offered in a range of training areas such as construction, automotive, business, information technology, tourism and hospitality. For further information contact the Training Coordinator at your local college.

Women

Women's Strategy Officers are employed to provide support for women while they are studying at TAFE and to help them achieve their study goals. Some courses are specially designed to meet the needs of women such as Work Opportunities for Women (WOW) and Career Education and Employment for Women (CEEW). These courses provide skills for women who have been out of the paid workforce for many years and now want to return to study and/or employment. Contact the Women's Strategy Officer at your local college for more details.
