Choosing the right course

South Western Sydney Institute offers more than 700 courses in a range of industry areas. Visit our Semester One page for specific dates to enrol!

The enrolment method will depend on the type of course you choose. There are four main types of courses to choose from, they are:

Application courses

Most courses do not require an application, but for high demand courses, where the number of people who want to do a course is more than the number of places available, you will have to fill out a TAFE NSW application form and apply by the closing date. You may have to attend an information session, sit for a test, attend an interview or audition, or submit a portfolio to be considered for the courses. View our Application Process for more details.

Mainstream courses

For mainstream courses that do not require an application, you need to enrol in person at the college you will be attending or online if available. Click on How to enrol for more details

Short courses

Short or commercial courses are available for individuals to attend or can be customised and delivered at an industry or business location nationally or internationally.

Courses are run at various times throughout the year and are not subject to the same enrolment process as mainstream courses. There are no fee exemptions or concessions available.

International courses

Want to bring a friend or relative from overseas? SWSi is the smart choice for International students wanting to study in Australia. There are a wide range of courses and study options available.
