Skills recognition
Shorten and streamline the training process
The existing skills and knowledge of your staff can be formally recognised against the competencies established for your industry sector, and may lead to a nationally accredited qualification. We provide expert assessors and trainers and make the process easy for you.
At South Western Sydney Institute, we can arrange for your staff members' previous education, training and lifeskills to be counted against the competencies required to achieve a qualification. Recognition can shorten and streamline the training process and can encourage employees to undertake any necessary further training.
Recognition can be given for up to 100% of a TAFE NSW qualification, course or group of modules.
Recognition means that participants may be granted credit towards part or all of a course. This can shorten and streamline the training process and encourages employees to undertake any necessary further training. Recognition can be given for up to 100% of a TAFE NSW qualification, course or group of modules.
Our business consultants can arrange skills recognition and assessment services, such as Skills Express, to identify skills gap areas where further training of staff would benefit your businesses productivity.
Credit may be available for:
- previous study, including courses at school or college
- internal and external training programs at work
- overseas qualifications
- paid or voluntary work experience, or
- life experience
Skills Express
Skills Express Programs are designed as an assessment-only pathway to allow individuals to gain a nationally recognised certificate in specific trades areas. With new licensing requirements being introduced, many trades people now need a qualification to be submitted at the time their licence needs to be renewed
