Applying and Enrolling are two distinct processes. For most courses you don't need to apply at all, you just need to enrol. You simply turn up at your chosen college during their enrolment time and follow instructions.
How to apply
Most courses do not require an application, but for high demand courses,
where the number of people who want to do a course is more than the number
of places available, you will have to fill out a TAFE NSW application form and
apply by the closing date. You may have to attend an information session, sit for
a test, attend an interview or audition, or submit a portfolio to be considered
for the courses.
- In our printed course list or on our website, check the course that interests you to see if an application is required. Check the closing date for applications to make sure you leave yourself plenty of time.
- Contact one of our colleges to obtain the latest TAFE NSW Application Course Code Booklet and Application Form. (Note: These
can change from year to year, so it is important to have the latest.)
- Read the information in the Application Course Code Booklet, check that you meet the entry requirements amd complete the Application Form.
- Forward your completed form to the college of your first preference by the closing date, remembering to
attach copies of any documents requested on the application form.
If you are successful, you will be given the option to enrol online.
How to enrol
For courses that do not require an application, you need to enrol in person at the college you will be attending.
- Find out which TAFE college offers your course.
- Check that you meet the entry requirements for the course you are interested in and bring your documents with you to enrol.
- Contact the college to find out if there is a special information pack or compulsory information session for your course.
- You must attend any compulsory information session as it may involve selection or enrolment. Courses with a compulsory information session may enrol students before the advertised enrolment days. Please contact your college for dates and times.
- Enrolments for other courses (those that do not have a compulsory information session or which are not by application) will take place on the advertised enrolment days.
- There will be a further opportunity to enrol in courses which still have vanacancies after the initial enrolment process. Please contact your college for information on which courses still have vacancies.
- Complete the enrolment form and pay the TAFE NSW fee.
