Working with local communities
South Western Sydney Institute's Aboriginal Unit works in partnership with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, Government Departments and Aboriginal/non-Aboriginal organisations to identify training and capacity building strategies to ensure educational programs are provided in a culturally appropriate manner.

Tutorial Assistance
Indigenous Tutorial Assistance Scheme Specialist support is available for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people seeking access to education and vocational training within TAFE NSW.Aboriginal students are supported by an Aboriginal Education Coordinator, who can assist with enquiries, as well as offer advice on general issues related to Aboriginal education.
